Three ways to install — pick what fits you. Most people use Google Play. If you'd rather not, the easy installer below does everything for you, and advanced users can grab the APK directly and verify it.

Google Play Easiest

The simplest way to install zukka and keep it updated automatically. One tap, like any other app.

The easy way without Google Play No tech needed

Don't want to use Google Play, and not sure what an "APK" is? No problem. Install our free Universal Installer — a Smartago app, no ads — and it handles zukka for you: it downloads the latest version, installs it, and keeps it updated. You never have to deal with files.

Is this safe? Yes — the Universal Installer is made by Smartago, the makers of zukka, and carries no ads. When you install it, Android will ask you to allow installing from this source. That message is normal — tap Allow and carry on.

Step 1 — get the Universal Installer

The Google Play version is the simplest. Prefer not to use Play? The APK works just as well — it's also on smartago.net/us/applications.

Step 2 — open it and enter this short code

Type this exactly, the SC: part included SC:zukka
  1. Open the Universal Installer and tap Add by short code.
  2. Type or paste SC:zukka exactly (yes, including SC:). The installer recognises zukka and fetches the latest version for you.
  3. Tap install — Android may ask you to allow it, tap Allow. From then on the installer keeps zukka updated automatically — no store account, no files to manage.

Direct APK Releasing shortly

Know your way around sideloading? Download the APK straight from this page and verify it against a published SHA-256 checksum, so you can confirm exactly what you're installing — no store, no middle layer.

At release this will show the version, the APK size and its SHA-256 fingerprint — and you'll allow "install from unknown sources" once. Until then, use Google Play or the Universal Installer above.
